(ECNS) -- China's leading train manufacturer CRRC Sifang announced to export commuter electronic trains to Indonesia for the first time, marking another breakthrough after the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail EMU project.
According to the contract, the manufacturer will provide three sets of electronic trains to commuter lines in Indonesia. The 3 electronic trains consisting of 12 cars each are designed with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour with a maximum passenger capacity of 3,396. The car is made of stainless steel and are adopted the local gauge of 1,067 millimeters with LED dynamic electronic displays.
The new electric trains are expected to be delivered in 2025 and improve the commuting experience for Indonesian passengers.
